The 7 symptoms of Myringitis

Myringitis is an inflammation of the eardrum, also known as the tympanic membrane.

The 7 symptoms of myringitis include:

  1. Pain in the ear
  2. Redness and swelling of the eardrum
  3. Drainage of fluid from the ear
  4. Hearing loss or decreased hearing
  5. Tinnitus (ringing in the ear)
  6. Dizziness
  7. A fever or feeling of fullness in the ear.

The causes of myringitis can include viral or bacterial infections, ear injury, and exposure to loud noises. It is usually diagnosed through a physical examination and an examination of the ear with an otoscope. Treatment may include antibiotics, pain relief, and in some cases, surgery to repair the eardrum.
